TRANSLATIONS: VOIDING BETWEEN DIMENSIONS
2013
Mixed Media on Fiber and Gram Paper
20 x 30" (3), 12 x 14," 12 x 16"
This project explores how the language, translation, and importance of miniscule elements in the visual representation of mechanics and dimension act as "DNA," and likewise, how a simple tweak in expression can communicate an entirely different design. Technical expression is executed through the distortion of overlaying realms: 2-dimensional and 3-dimension structures are shown all at once, convoluted through complex layers atop one another, to project almost an improvised artistic technique. This contrasts the irony of planned design.
